Application round for the Briese Sponsorship Award open until 31.10.2022
Once again this year, the shipping company Briese Schifffahrt GmbH & Co. KG (Leer), together with the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW), is awarding the "BRIESE Prize for Marine Research".
The prize, which is awarded annually, is intended to honour outstanding doctoral theses in marine research whose results are particularly closely related to the use of research vessels and the use and development of technology and/or data collection at sea. A primary criterion for the award is the scope of the scientific knowledge gained in the course of the work. The award comes with prize money of €5,000.
Researchers who have completed an outstanding doctorate at a German university no longer than 2 years ago are eligible to apply. All disciplines of marine research, including marine technology and climate research, are invited to apply. Applications are made directly by the applicant.
