Mining Impact2 Final Meeting | 1-2. Feb. 2022

Mining impact 2
Final Project meeting

Invitation to all interested stakeholders to attend the upcoming Stakeholder Event and Final Project Meeting of MiningImpact 2.

This is the final meeting of the 2nd phase of MiningImpact project, which involves 29 scientific partners from 9 European countries and the International Seabed Authority, and is funded through JPI Oceans. MiningImpact 2 focuses on assessing the environmental impacts and risks associated with future deep-sea mining activities of polymetallic nodules. The core of the project were two ship expeditions, SO268 and IP21, which conducted an independent scientific monitoring of the first industrial test of a pre-prototype collector vehicle in the German and Belgian exploration license areas of the Clarion Clipperton Zone in the east-equatorial Pacific Ocean. Join this meeting for an exclusive opportunity to learn about the latest scientific results and recommendations for international regulations, such as the ISA’s Mining Code.
