KDM is the national platform of the marine research community, encompassing all aspects of coastal, polar and open ocean in the Anthropocene. We promote strategising and networking to maximise the contribution of marine research to better understanding and human interaction with the oceans.
With the aim of making effective and efficient use of the resources invested in national marine research and innovation, KDM cooperates closely with and provides content and knowledge to all relevant national actors and programmes, including the following.
German Alliance for Marine Research
The aim of the German Alliance for Marine Research is to strengthen the sustainable use of coasts, seas and oceans through research, data management and digitalisation, coordination of infrastructures and transfer.
Coastal Research North & Baltic Sea
The KüNO Network is a programme for coastal sea research in the North Sea and Baltic Sea with seven collaborative projects funded by the BMBF framework programme "Research for Sustainable Development (FONA³)".
